Cacao Cake

This is a simple Cacao Cake for starters that can be extended to taste

Ingredients

  • 3 mid size eggs
  • 1.5 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sunflower seed oil or 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cacao
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Steps

  • Whisk eggs and sugar. Add oil/butter and milk and keep whisking
  • Add all remaining ingredients with spatula until all mixed
  • Oil/butter the cake pan and spread the cake batter
  • Preheat oven at 180ºC/360ºF and bake for ~40 mins.
  • From time to time check the cake by stabbing a knife to it and see if there is any batter when you pull it

Notes

  • Read legend for any term you are unsure about
  • Egg size matters since it affects if cake will hold together or just crumble when baked
  • You can add zest (see legend) such as lemon zest to give it flavor
